Holly Marie Combs was born on 3rd December 1973 in San Diego, California. Holly's mother, Lauralei, was just fourteen when she became pregnant with her daughter and although her mother and father did marry, they separated just two years later.

Mother and daughter moved to New York City when Holly was eight and she was enrolled in stage school shortly afterwards. Holly's first appearances came when she was just ten years old in adverts, while her mother followed her ambitions to become an actress and a singer herself.

Holly's break into the movies came with Walls of Glass in 1985, a movie in which her mother also played a part! At the age of thirteen, she landed a part as Debs Boon in Sweet Hearts Dance alongside Miami Vice's Don Johnson and Susan Sarandon.

A year later she got a part alongside Tom Cruise in Oliver Stone's blockbuster Born on the Fourth of July. Other credits include parts in TV Soaps like The Guiding Light and As The World Turns. On the big screen, she also appeared in New York Stories.

Holly's big break with the part of Kimberly Brock on Picket Fences when she was just 18. A highly successful series - the show won fourteen Emmys in four years. Her perfomance on the show earnt her Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress in a New Television Series in 1993. Holly was married to fellow actor Bryan 'Bugsy' Smithfrom 1993-9. She was just 19 when they met and the couple eloped after three months to get married in Las Vegas.

Her second serious romance came three years ago, when she became engaged to a school teacher she met in Mexico. Holly called off the engagement and has since been more careful and is taking things easy with her new boyfriend David Donoho, whom she met on the set of Charmed. Holly shares her LA hacienda-style three-bedroom house with her boyfriend, her mother, three dogs - Travis, Hugo and Wiley ( who was given to her by Don Johnson) - two cats - Selena and Blue - and two birds. She also owns a horse named Jesse.
